Stubblefield Salvage Yard cleanup plan: Comment period 6/12-7/14/25

You are invited to review and comment on the draft Cleanup Action Plan and Engineering Design Report for the Stubblefield Salvage Yard cleanup site. The site covers roughly 11 acres at 595 Offner Road in Walla Walla. We are proposing to excavate soil contaminated with petroleum and PCBs and transport them via truck to a permitted disposal facility. Ecology would complete this work using funds from our Eastern Washington Clean Sites Initiative. Soil remaining on-site contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and metals will be regraded and capped with either asphalt, concrete, or a minimum of 1 foot of clean soil. The property owner would complete this work during redevelopment.


All comments are due by July 14, at 11:59 p.m.


Next steps: After the close of the comment period, Ecology will review and respond to comments. We will send our response to comments document to anyone who provided contact information above, and it will be posted online.
